Struck by a thunderbolt
Something’s hit me hard
I’ve reached the edges of my walk
Now I am on my guard
A buried relic from my past
Has been exhumed by You
Will I allow You to extract
The pain that sticks like glue.
I know that You are delicate
Your surgery is kind
But I am stuck in no man’s land
The battle’s in my [...]

When Adam and Eve got rumbled
By gorging on that fruit
They realised their nakedness
Was rather absolute
So they hid from prying eyes
By placing on their bits
Lots of covering foliage
The fig leaves seemed to fit.
We’re the same with nakedness
We like to cover up
Afraid of what we think we are
With Father, we’ll not sup
Drop the shield of stifling masks
He [...]

They say it’s better out than in
And what they say is true
Cause you don’t know what’s lurking there
Until you look into
The reasons why you are yourself
For better or for worse
You either live a blessed life
Or one beneath a curse.
When you’ve finally had enough
Of living with your lot
Surrender all unto The Lord
Just give Him all you’ve [...]

The Rock that I stand on
Is firm and unyielding
Supporting my movement
Whatever I’m fielding
He’s there when I falter
Slip off of the path
He’s ready to help me
Turn sorrow to laughs
He guides me along
Every step of the way
From darkness I’ve travelled
Towards His bright ray
The Rock stops me sinking
Back into the mire
Through Jesus I’m stable
To Him I aspire.

I used to worship money
An idol built of greed
My life revolved around the lump
Amassed, just for my need
I used to guard it carefully
And watch it ebb and flow
Was overjoyed to see it come
But sad to see it go.
Charity began at home
My needs were paramount
The poor and needy had to wait
Their poverty didn’t count
But then I [...]

Come and see Me when you’re able
Call by for a little chat
There is so much I must tell you
I’m concerned at where you’re at
You have drifted from My purpose
Heading for a nasty fall
I can guide you back to safety
If on Me you kindly call.
Though My children number millions
I’m available for you
I have knowledge of your [...]

If you’ve come to feed your face
Full of Gods unending grace
And give nothing in it’s place
For Gods sake, get a life
If the worship makes you groan
Modern service makes you moan
Cause it attacks your comfort zone
For Gods sake, get a life.
We have come to praise The Lord
Not to claim our own reward
If you’re sitting stiff and [...]

The journey I am set upon
Is full of joy and pain
Sometimes dragging through the sand
Others, drenched in rain
I can say without a doubt
That You are worth it all
For I am gaining more of You
In areas of my fall.
Bit by bit I’m coming round
To trust and rest in You
I can walk a lighter step
Knowing You are [...]

My soul is like a coconut
It has a hardened shell
That covers all my treasures
My ability to dwell
Within the beauty of my Spirit
All He has for me
Is governed by my soulish man
Who will not set me free.
I can choose to overthrow
The power that is me
By breaking through that toughened shell
To find true liberty
My Father’s waiting for [...]
