Do  you  fit  the  photofit
That  you  are  meant  to  be
Are  you  real  or  do  you  feel
That  photograph  ain’t  me
Is  it  time  to  realise
That  you  are  just  a  sham
To  please  the  ones  surrounding  you
You’ve  laid  down  like  a  lamb.

The  inner  you  is  bubbling   up
Unable  to  be  stilled
Breaking  through  the  false  veneer
Refusing  to  be  killed
One  day  soon  it  will  erupt
And  blow  your  mask  apart
Who’ll  be  there  to  mop  it  up
The  mess  that  was  your  heart.

The  road  of  life  is  very  tough
And  crevices  appear
You  trip  and  fall  so  many  times
But  child, there  is  no  fear
For  I  allow  these  these  darker  times
Refining  you  like  gold
You’ll  come  out  stronger  than  you  were
Be  patient,  as  I  mould.

It’s no use being miserable
If things don’t go your way
You asked Him for His guiding hand
To keep the dark at bay
Like a child, you’re playing up
Your tantrums are so sad
You’ve thrown your teddy out the pram
How did things get so bad?

Perhaps you got complacent
Off the path you wandered
Left your armour on the floor
Relationship was squandered
Now you’ve reaped what you have sown
Resulting in this mess
Quickly,run back to His arms
His love will do the rest.

Thank you Lord for who You are
My redeemer, hope and star
Never gives up on this child
Though untamed and running wild
Keep Your hand upon my life
Cut the darkness with Your knife
Fill me full of light and hope
With Your blueprint, I can cope.
Thank you Lord for waiting there
Patiently, while I went spare
Glad to be back at Your feet
A relationship complete
Help me grow through Your great Word
Help me act on what I’ve heard
Be a beacon to the lost
Shine Your light , despite the cost
Be encouraging to those
Stuck in transit, in a doze
Yes I’m here to do Your work
May I never try to shirk.

Whatever job you do in life
Try to do your best
Thanking God for where you work
No matter how you’re pressed
For He has put you in that place
To be His shining light
Radiating to the ones
Who are in worldly plight.

They are watching how you act
In situations various
When the atmosphere is good
And when things get precarious
Reacting in a calming mood
Will make them think again
The fact you walk the Christian way
Will prove it’s not in vain.

When I have all that I desire
Running fine, can get no higher
Why is that still not enough
Satisfactions feeling rough
Dream of things that will excite
Seems the devil holds me tight
In places that I want to leave
Stifles me, I cannot breathe
Past excursions still exist
In the deepest lands of mist
Holy Spirit, blow me clean
Of all the things on which I lean
Want a realness to my life
Free of childish, selfish strife
Show me what I need to do
To be content in only You.

Are you happy with your life
Is it going swimmingly
Everything you’ve ever dreamed
Being perfect to a tee
Do you go to church each week
Say the words and sing His praise
Drink your coffee, have a chat
Then return to your malaise
Perhaps your duty has been done
Cleared the decks of all your sin
Then you can amass again
As many as you can fit in.

It seems a waste of time to me
Preferring worldly gain
Life is short, there is an end
Then you’ll feel the pain
Of separation from your Lord
Who wanted you so much
You chose the easy path to walk
Into the devil’s clutch.

Holy Spirit, come in power
Saturate us with Your shower
Let us be aware of You
Ever faithful, always true
Help us give You all our trust
Please take over all of us
Change us into something new
Refiners fire please melt our glue
Into rivers, clean and pure
Worldly sickness, help us cure
Holy Spirit, come in power
Saturate us with Your shower.

If you’re looking for some help
With what you’re going through
And if everything  you’ve tried
Has left you feeling blue
Then hand it over straight away
To He who knows the cure
You needn’t go another day
With what you must endure.

Jesus suffered everything
From hate right through to pain
He understands your every mood
He longs to keep you sane
Let Him guide you through the mess
His peace can give you rest
No matter if they’re large or small
He’s equal to the test.

You’re finding life is humdrum
You’re finding church a bore
The thrill you got from serving Him
Is sadly there no more
You’re going through the motions
The words you do not mean
You might as well just disappear
As though you’d never been.

Maybe you are holding back
From giving all you’ve got
To He who knows you inside out
Who’s loved you from year dot
You’re sitting on a flaky fence
The splinters cause you pain
When are you going to clamber back
Upon His road again.

What do people see in you
Are you a blessing in their eyes
Always there to be a help
Or a Christian in disguise
Do you fall in with their world
Laugh out loudly at their jokes
Light extinguished in their sight
Keeping well in with the blokes.

Sadly, in your cowardly way
You are leading them to hell
Letting down the One you love
Choosing not to stand and tell
About The light that leads the way
To pastures green, away from death
Remember that the time is short
For some, may only be a breath.
