You have the chance to stop and sit,
And take stock of your life,
To wonder why the path you walk,
Is leading you to strife,
Are you walking with The Lord,
Perhaps you think you are,
Or taking on your life yourself,
You won’t get very far.

The Lord is waiting patiently,
For you to rest in Him,
He wants to show you where you’re at,
Your light is getting dim,
Be prepared to face the fact,
Refinement is the need,
The Holy Spirit wants to act,
So be aware and heed.

Your gifts are needed urgently,
By those lost in the dark,
But where’s the beacon to the ones,
With whom you make your mark,
Give Him back the things you do,
Your everyday affairs,
And He will tune them into His,
All will be repaired.

I have got a destiny
I know there’s something there in me
That God has purposed me to use
I’m praying that He’ll light the fuse
That sets off all that’s deep inside
Talents,gifts too good too hide
To be a part of His great plan
Not be a Christian also ran
Like those who wasted what they had
And let their precious fruit go bad
By letting satan cause them fear
In making it so very clear
That they were useless, had no guts
And left them in their placid ruts
To be an army ruled by doubt
In prison camps with no way out
But we have got the victory
Jesus died to set us free
In Him,we have the strength to run
The marathon, He has begun.

Hello God,it’s me again
I’ve learnt another way
To come into Your courts of praise
Each and every day
I’ve dropped all the pretending
My shopping list of greed
I aim to come, just as I am
A hopeless case, in need.

It’s You I want, not just Your help
I’ve always missed the truth
I joined Your top insurance scheme
And then stood back, aloof
But now I know it’s not enough
To hang around Your gate
I’ve got to get to know You Lord
Before it is too late.

How the devil are you
What are you on today
Will you rejoice in carnal things
Or walk the humble way
Will you forsake your mindset
And let Him take a hold
So everything you say and do
Reflects what you’ve been told
Or be all sad and miserable
Bemoaning all your ills
Blaming others for your state
And cramming down the pills
The choice is very simple
It’s life, or death’s dark veil
It doesn’t take a lot of time
To choose which sea you’ll sail.

Just like the adverts
For life changing loans
There are temptations
To shut up our moans
Things that can give us
A new lease of life
Buy a new car
Or perhaps change the wife

Why aren’t we happy
With all that we’ve got
Blessed with the trinity
We have the lot
More than enough
To provide all our needs
Peace and contentment
To keep down the weeds.

Tell me what you see

A bunch of smiling Christians

As happy as can be

Some are walking with The Lord

Some just say they are

Chanting all the proper words

But living in a jar

Full of safe, familiar things

That feed their hungry souls

They don’t want to step outside

Their self anointed goals

Dabble in all kinds of darkness

They know they shouldn’t touch

As long as they hide in their sin

There’s no harm done,not much.

But if The Light was shone on them

Their sin would glow so bright

And satan would be proud of them

Because they’ve chosen right

You cannot lead a double life

Cause it will bring you down

Repent and get back on the path

Before you finally drown.

In Jesus name I’ve been set free
My chains have been removed
He’s been working twenty years
To get His child improved
Though there’s plenty more to do
I know he won’t stand still
He wants me back as I once was
My void He wants to fill.

All I do is let Him work
Iv’e learnt that that is best
Refining me to suit my state
I never would have guessed
That he would love me oh so much
To choose a wreck like me
I open up my arms in praise
Surrender totally.

I have been convicted
Of things not very nice
Destructive traits that are of me
A block of thoughtless ice
Untouched by peoples circumstance
I favour very few
My feelings are concerned with me
And not refreshed by You

These things have lain hidden
For more than forty years
Motivating all my thoughts
Promoting many tears
I have the chance to wave goodbye
To what is deep in me
Better off without them
Yielded up to Thee.

The desert has appeared again
A learning journey,I must make
With this weight upon my soul
Death to self,I do partake
For I have branches that are dead
Sap no longer reaches them
I must sacrifice my right
To be a self made worldly gem.

He will snip and fashion me
Loving cuts will form a shape
I will trust Him,everything
From His love I can’t escape
Here I am Lord,have Your way
I am willing for Your hand
To change me into something new
I will follow Your command.

Perfect Father,Loving God
You have brought me to this time
I cannot go on like this
Need Your will and touch sublime
Show me glimpses of completion
Keep me trudging through the sand
Brokeness is what I need
Demolish me with Your fair hand.

I lay my life out as a fleece
To catch Your precious dew
And let it soak into the parts
That are devoid of You
For I am still so insular
An island out to sea
Come and land upon the rock
That is my heart to thee.

Here I am Lord, I’ve expired
There is no fight in me
I come as gently as a lamb
As quiet as can be
There is no hope in what I am
I’ve sinned and I repent
Take Your headstrong, wilful child
Cause all of me is spent.
